By having a soft surface, a fall does not have to result in tears. Whatever you do, do not simply plonk your new swing set onto concrete or asphalt. If you do, you can expect to end up on first name terms with the local paramedics. Safer alternatives for your undercover include grass, pea gravel, mulch, rubber mulch, even fancy rubber tiles.
